Statewide Hydraulics perform seven and 10-year inspections for vehicle-mounted cranes, including truck-mounted cranes and vessel-mounted cranes. Our experienced technicians also handle annual servicing for cranes. It’s our goal to keep your workplace safe and efficient, and this is what we achieve with our hydraulic crane inspections and servicing.
Our team carries out thorough hydraulic and mechanical inspections, including crack testing. If we happen to find any faults or damage after our inspection, we can also perform full repairs to restore your components back to safe, working order.
WHAT DOES A HYDRAULIC CRANE INSPECTION INVOLVE?
A crane inspection includes an assessment of the structure as well as its mechanical components to ensure everything is still in good condition and is safe for continued operation. During both annual and major inspections, your hydraulic crane must be checked for the following:
• Any evidence of corrosion
• Structural and wear components
• Tolerances for wear limit
• The functioning and calibration of limiting and indicating devices
• Signs of cracking, especially in critical areas.
As advised by Safe Work Australia, these major inspections must be carried out by a knowledgeable and qualified engineering professional. At Statewide Hydraulics, our service team is fully qualified to handle hydraulic crane inspections. With our background in hydraulic engineering, you’ll have full confidence that our servicing will keep your machinery running as safely and efficiently as possible.
HOW OFTEN DOES A VEHICLE-MOUNTED CRANE NEED INSPECTING?
As a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU), it is your responsibility to ensure the cranes in your workplace are regularly inspected and maintained – as outlined in the model Work Health and Safety Regulations. Safe Work Australia advises that hydraulic crane inspections need to be conducted annually, with a major inspection occurring at least once every 10 years.
It’s important to note that the frequency at which hydraulic cranes need servicing can vary depending on the manufacturer’s instructions. If manufacturer’s instructions are not available, the frequency of your servicing should be determined by the relevant technical standards and engineering principles.
If you’re unsure about the manufacturing instructions, or your vehicle-mounted crane is due for an inspection, don’t hesitate to contact the Statewide Hydraulics engineering team on (03) 9460 2377 for professional onsite servicing and safety inspections.
